In todays world they say fourth World War will be held for WATER !!
Imaortance of saving water has been highly explained to all.
Today in the era of urbanization and many other reaons land available for agriculture is getting reduced drastically day by day. Others concern to state is low productivity of land which may be due to low water management.

Rain Water can not be relied as all time source of water. Rain water harvesting is catching up its momentum . but still saving water remains the best option available in front of us.

Low farm size is making it difficult to farmers/ growers to adapt mechanized farming.Urban farming too, is gaining momentum in India. So in order to make use of barren lands or small pieces of land for farming water availability and water management is the core issue which can be well handled by Micro irrigation.

the above figure shows how water can be efficiently used by use of  drip system.

The idea of micro irrigation system can be implemented in smallest piece of land may it be your gallery or terrace or backyard. Depending upon farm size and your choice irrigation layout could be used as given in figure below:
Fig : Micro Irrigation system using tank

Fig : Micro irrigation system using bucket

Fig : drip irrigation system

Fig : Schematic Layout of Irrigation

 Highlights :

  • very simple to construct, install and operate.
  • does not consume diesel, petrol or electricity.
  • Easy to operate
  • No requirement of skilled labour
  • affordable
  • can be used at any place viz. slopes of mountains, hilly areas, balcony, terrace, backyard.
  • negligible maintenance cost
  • can also be used to give fertilizers by mixing with water directly to the roots of the plant by drippers.
  • increase in yield from 50-150%
How it works :
On the basic principal of gravity. Pour water in tank/ bucket and it goes to the the plant directly.

Assembly :
One storage tank or bucket, elbow, T, Submain, Drip Tube, End Stop and wooden stand for tank

Appeal :
Do propagate this technique to the needy...!
Each drop of water can work wonder !!
